At 14800 Pioneer Trail: trails, a fishing pier, a boat ramp, disc golf and an archery range, plus a 700-foot sledding hill and groomed ski trails in winter. Free summer concerts play at its amphitheater.
Bryant Lake Regional Park
170 acres run by Three Rivers Park District, with a free sand-bottom swimming beach (no lifeguards), a boat launch and summer watercraft rentals, disc golf and a fenced off-leash dog area.
Schooner Days
The Eden Prairie Lions’ festival at Round Lake Park every year in late spring, with carnival rides, a vendor marketplace and a beer garden. It’s a 60-plus-year tradition and drew more than 17,000 visitors in 2025.

Getting around
I-494, Highway 212 and Highway 5 meet near Eden Prairie Center. SouthWest Transit runs buses from SouthWest Station (13500 Technology Drive) to downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota and the Mall of America, with free park-and-ride, and its 686 route goes to MSP Airport. The METRO Green Line extension is scheduled to open June 12, 2027, with stations at City West, Golden Triangle, Eden Prairie Town Center and SouthWest Station.
Parks and trails
37 city parks, 15 conservation areas and more than 225 miles of sidewalks and trails, including 16 miles of nature trails. Riley Lake Park has a beach with lifeguards in summer, and Round Lake Park has an unguarded beach. Three Rivers runs Bryant Lake and Anderson Lakes regional parks and the Minnesota River Bluffs Regional Trail, a 9.2-mile crushed-limestone trail on an old rail line that’s plowed in Eden Prairie in winter.
Through the year
Schooner Days at Round Lake Park in late spring, and the city’s 4th of July Hometown Celebration there with fireworks. Free concerts and movies at the Staring Lake amphitheater, June through August. The Eden Prairie Library is at 565 Prairie Center Drive.
School districts
Most of Eden Prairie is in Eden Prairie Schools, and parts are served by Hopkins Public Schools and Minnetonka Public Schools. Boundaries go by address, so check any home with the district before you write an offer. We’ll do it with you.

Water and sewer
The city bills water and sewer quarterly. Submit the city’s online start/stop service request within a day or two of closing, with the closing date and meter reading. Utility Billing: 952-949-8382. When a home sells, the city takes a final meter reading and bills the account proportionately.
Trash and recycling
You pick your own garbage and recycling hauler from the city’s licensed list. Haulers must bill every household for organics, but carts come only on request, and organics go out weekly on trash day. The city’s seasonal yard waste site is at 9811 Flying Cloud Drive.
Electric, gas and internet
Electric is Xcel Energy or Minnesota Valley Electric Cooperative, depending on the address, and gas is CenterPoint Energy. CenturyLink/Lumen, Xfinity and T-Mobile Fiber serve parts of the city. Check availability for the specific home.
Winter parking
A snow emergency starts as soon as 2 inches of snow falls. Don’t park on city streets until they’re plowed curb to curb. All year, a car can’t stay parked on a city street for more than 24 hours. It’s illegal to push snow into the street.
Pets
Dogs 6 months and older need a city license, with proof of rabies vaccination. It’s $20 for a two-year cycle ($10 if you buy partway through). Dogs must be on a leash off your property.
New to Minnesota
You have 60 days after becoming a resident to get a Minnesota driver’s license and register your vehicles.

Check early
Open permits, unpermitted work, HOA rules and special assessments are easier to sort out before you list than in the middle of a sale.

Every rental in Eden Prairie, single-family homes included, needs a city rental license and inspection. The license is renewed every year; the 2026 fee for a single unit is $110.
